Go into regedit and search for DVDUI.

The registry has a drive letter section.

MAKE SURE THAT DRIVE LETTER is the actual cdrom drive letter.

It sounds like you have a second CDROM drive and the line in there is referencing to the 3rd party CDROM not the DVD drive.

Change that letter, reboot and VWALA, DVD works just fine.
